K-6 College & Career Readiness

Hello, this is Dr. Michelle Rushing. I'm the K-6 College & Career Readiness (CCR) counselor for the Merrillville Community School Corporation. My goal is to educate students on the importance of doing well in school, graduating from high school and pursuing additional training or education after high school.

 

I aim to expose students to various careers from each of the 6 career pathways:
--Arts & Communication (Creative Pathway)
--Business, Management, Marketing & Technology (Business Pathway)
--Engineering, Manufacturing & Industrial Technology (Fixing & Building Pathway)
--Health Sciences (Health Pathway)
--Human Services (Helping Pathway)
--Agriculture & Natural Resources (Nature Pathway)

 

By exposing students to various careers at a young age, the hope is that students will be prepared when they reach high school to choose classes that target their interests and what they want to pursue career-wise.
